Before moving to New York City in August 2021, I provided virtual cooking workshops for senior citizens in my community of Roanoke, Virginia. There, I worked with a local retirement facility to bridge the gap between the lack of healthy snack and meal offerings available in on-site dining, and the desire for nutritious alternatives.


The Virtual Cooking Workshops were all personally developed to suit the needs of the seniors' small kitchens and basic pantry staples. Each recipe was uncomplicated and easily modifiable to varying tastes and dietary needs, featuring affordable and accessible ingredients. Participants were given the option of using pre-assembled ingredient kits, making the workshops interactive and easily attainable.
